A collection of scriptures associated with Mahayana Buddhism, which influenced the creation of the Tiantai, Tendai, Cheontae and Nichiren schools. Composed largely in verse, it has a total of twenty eight chapters. It is speculated that this sutra was composed in four stages, starting from the first century BCE and ending c. mid-first century CE.
