Composed of two parts — paryanka, meaning “bed” or “couch”, and asana meaning “pose” –– it is a yoga pose performed while on the floor. It involves lying on one’s back and by arching it in such a manner that only the crown of the head rests on the floor. The arms are extended above the head, with the elbows bent and each hand clasping the opposite elbow.
