Founded in 1958 and located in Thrissur, it is an arts and culture institution managed by the Kerala state government’s Department of Culture. It supports the performing arts, including temple and ritual arts, in the state through awards, fellowships, seminars, workshops and public events, in addition to documenting the historic art forms of the region.
