A collection of Hindu literary and scriptural texts that establishes systems of ritual and worship, among other things such as epistemology, philosophical doctrines, deification and temple worship. The texts are broadly divided into three branches — Shaiva, Vaishnava and Shakta. From Sanskrit, meaning “tradition.”
