A public chariot procession associated with the worship of the Hindu god Jagannath and predominantly celebrated in the states of Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The Jagannath Rath Yatra at Puri is the most prominent and is held annually during the monsoon months of Ashadh in the Hindu calendar, which corresponds with the months of June and July.
