Syed Ahmad Khan (b. 1817; d. 1898) was an educator, philosopher and reformer who is considered to be one of the foremost figures in the revival of the Indian Islamic movement during the nineteenth century. He founded the Anglo-Mohammedan Oriental University, now known as the Aligarh Muslim University, in 1875.
