Also known as Dakshina Kalika, she is a Hindu goddess and aspect of Shakti and is regarded as the destroyer of evil forces and master of time, death and change. She is a principal deity of the Kulamarga tradition in Shaktism and Tantric Shaivism. From the Sanskrit word kali, meaning “fullness of time.”
