Bishnupriya Dutt (b. n.d.) is an Indian scholar of theatre studies and performance arts, as well as a professor and former dean of the School of Art and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She was also a member of the Journalism and Mass Communication faculty at the University of Calcutta. Her areas of research encompass histories of theatre and performance, including feminist perspectives, popular culture and Marxist cultural movements. She has also directed and performed plays at the People’s Little Theatre, a group established by her father, the celebrated Indian actor and director Utpal Dutt.
